  • I miss knowing what is going on with all of you. It's time for you to send me a quick update via message or comment or Facebook...
I look forward to the day when I can be leisurely with Xanga again.

"From the beginning of the year to the end of the year, from the first gathering of evening shadows until the day-star shines, in all conditions and under all circumstances, it shall be well with the righteous." ~ C. Spurgeon

This, of course, only makes sense if you remember that being righteous isn't about doing the "right" things, but it's all about being in "right-relationship" with God. If things are cool between Him and me, then I can weather any situation, however difficult.
    I know it's true. I've lived it.

"Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them." Is 3:10
"Arise from the depression....in which circumstances have kept you - rise to a new life!"
    Is 60:1

As far as I can tell, that's only possible with Jesus. I'm so grateful that I walk through this life with Him. I didn't at one time, you know, and sometimes I even try to make it on my own still. Silly girl. Yes, I am so, so grateful for this Companion
who walks through all of life's vicissitudes beside me.

    **********
We'll be busy day today - not only packing, but prepping for a large going-away party tomorrow. The goodbyes are increasing daily. Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my very good, sweet, young friend pictured here, between 2 of us who often taught her classes and have just lived and laughed through much of her young life with her.

I was a wet mess. She's like one of my own.

And, the girls are bidding fond adieus to many chums.
In this case it was the young lady in the gray top.

It's definitely tissue time around here, which is a good thing.
It means that much love abounds.

  • the girls all have such wonderous smiles. There must be a remarkable joy that shared in that place.

  • Great pictures. I think it is so very nice that you have these friends you think so much of that you could not leave them without "good-bys"........Speaks highly of you and you familyTrish.

  • I really hate goodbyes. The thing I love about the modern era, when you don't have time to say good-by you can explain it on Facebook or Xanga. God bless you in the busy times.

  • I think commenter #2 Lucy or Ethel said it very well. I have not blogged much lately. My oldest daughter is home from Japan for a week and then moves to another state about 20 hours from here by car next month to starts a job. And to be with her finance. I find myself treasuring the week and also pondering what things I want to say to her this week, if any, about different things that have gone on in our lives over the years.

  • @Aloysius_son -

Very observant - much joy and much love.

  • @Lucy_or_Ethel -

Our friends are family to us. We've been blessed for so many years, even amidst the hard times.

  • @mcbery -

I like the fact that because of technology, goodbyes don't have to mean the end of all communication. So grateful.

  • @Ponder_ing -

I hope your time with your daughter is extra special.

  • Fond farewells. Praying for you all as you say good bye and travel.

Living life here. Needing wisdom on medical needs for Grandpa. Looking forward to seeing our older boys and their wives in August.

  • I enjoyed catching up on your site - and your visit with your in-laws. Great pictures.

  • How wonderful that the Lord has put so many awesome people in your life.  How sad it would be if there were few to say tearful goodbyes to!
