  • "Pure, sudden, steep, sharp, painful gratitude...falls...on my neck, lifting me...into the world's unspeakable kindness."                                                                                                                                                                        ~ Mary Oliver

I'd like to walk in greater gratitude this upcoming year, increasingly cognizant of God's grace and kindness that weaves itself through my every days.

"I am not worthy of the least of all the mercy and loving-kindness and all the faithfulness which You have shown to Your servant." Gen 32:10

    Today, I'm grateful that:

    > Jesus revealed Himself to me 40 years ago, when I wasn't even really looking for Him.

    > God has provided a lovely, new home for us after a year of tremendous stress and change.

    > We've had precious time with our children this Christmas, who love one another dearly. I do not take that lightly.

    > I have another day to find more reasons for gratitude and to relish the simple graces that surround me.

A peek at our recent life here in Oregon:

Cutting down our Christmas tree...the girls, including a fully recovered Kate, and Kat, Jon's dear girlfriend ~

Yes, our two youngest sons, Jon and Jesse, came home.

Such a lovely time of year....

May the Lord help us all to find many, many reasons for gratitude all throughout 2011.

  • We all have so much to be thankful for don't we? These are great pictures of you folks. Looks like a lovely time for you.

  • Ah! I can smell that tree! But, lucky you, you can step outside your door and see beauty all around you. Don't forget the beautiful and fragrant landscape of Oregon. That's a tremendous blessing - spoken by one in the flat, red clay, grassy prairie lands of Oklahoma! Here's to a better 2011 - God bless!

  • I missed your Christmas post Trish ; probably would I think you were busy with the new home and you had no time to sail on the Xanga sea .
But you are here and with you your admirable family which tends to increase
All I can say is your children are all beautiful like the parents .

I wish for you a year 2011 filled with health ,love and blessings .

    Love

    Michel

  • @fauquet -

No, you missed nothing, my friend - I just did it yesterday!

  • Sweet pictures! I like your resolution to have greater gratitude in the new year. Sounds like a good thing for the whole year through.

  • One of the best things about Christmas is being with family.
