Greetings from chilly and wet Oregon! In our valley, it's pretty snow-free, but with the absence of sun, it does feel like winter. We're drinking many mugs of frothy hot chocolate these days.
According to C.S. Lewis, (a particular favorite of mine), there are 2 kinds of miracles:
> those in-line with God-ordained nature, only sped up: water turned into wine, healing, feeding the multitudes,
> and those contrary to nature, which give us promises of a reality yet to come: the resurrection, the transfiguration of Jesus, walking on water...
"[All of these] are glimpses of the beauty and the effortless power over all matter which will belong to men when they are really waked by God." ~ CS Lewis
Isn't that a wondrous thought?
"What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will give us later....All creation is waiting eagerly for the future day...All creation anticipates the day when it will join God's children in glorious freedom from death and decay....We...wait anxiously for that day when God will give us our full rights as His children....We all look forward to something we don't have yet..." ~ Rom 8
When I see my ordinary days dotted with His little wonders, I like to remember that there is much more to come.
Meanwhile - it's back to school for me, back to unpacking more boxes! But before I leave ~

Love your pictures and very much like your commentary. The 2 kinds of miracles is a new way of thinking of miracles for me, very nice. It must be beautiful in Oregon all year around.
Thanks for giving us spiritual and physical beauty in this post!
Lovely pictures of the forest. I love C.S. Lewis (in fact I'm re-reading one of his now for my daughter's lit class- The Screwtape Letters- very thought provoking work in my opinion).
Beautiful photos! Great to have you back here
