Sometimes, it's so easy and so tempting to live in the future. Maybe we're anticipating a coming event, dreading something that feels inevitable, or maybe it's the uncertainty of the days ahead that rivet our souls.
"Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year."~ Robert FrostContentment lives in the peace of the moment. I want to be very content."[Have] the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit,
which is not anxious or wrought up." 1 Pet 3:4Yes, may my heart be as quiet as the blooms unfolding in the warming air.
I'm off to read what may be our last lit book of this year:
Irving Stone's The Agony and Ecstasy - the story of Michelangelo.What are you reading these days?

The Judgment, by Beverly Lewis. (On a side note, she was doing a book signing yesterday, and I got her autograph! She really seems like such a sweet lady.
I'm reading a memoir of Ingrid Betancourt, a Colombian presidential candidate who was captured by the FARC in the jungles.
Beautiful ranunculus in your yard, Trish (did you see my ranunculus post a couple of posts ago?).

@i_was_there_and_back_again - The Flower Fields (where the ranunculus are grown) is across the freeway from where you stayed in Carlsbad -- it covers the entire distance between the 2 off-ramps there!

So, do you think Ann Rule is a good writer?

Lovely post and lovely pictures! I am currently reading Crazy Love, by Francis Chan.
@i_was_there_and_back_again - I find here investigative style and attention to detail very easy to read.
@i_was_there_and_back_again - It was fun for me
I'm one of those people who could (if I let myself) live inside my books, so meeting an inspiring one is so fun.
