  • Well, we are still settling into our new school routine here. The girls are gone most of the day, and I have some quieter hours, but the busyness continues. I have projects that I am working on, I’ve been trying to exercise more, I’m doing more traditional homemaking activities, (baking more, cleaning more, etc.), we’re having a lot of people over for dinners and evenings shared, (3rd in a row tonight!), we’re serving folks both within and outside the church, and then Jenny and Heidie have many happenings which require Mom staying up on her toes. Whew!

“If you believe something, passionately, people will follow you…because they think you know something they don’t, some clue to the meaning of the universe.” ~ D. Miller

What passions are you pursuing right now? I want to have the passion that runs through the very veins of God’s soul.

“Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” Rom 12:11

“Abound and excel…in faith…in knowledge, in all zeal, and in love.” 2 Cor 8:7

I especially want to excel in love – for my Lord and for the people He’s created. Especially those who don’t know or experience His love yet. It can start with something as simple as a smile and a friendly word.

One of the things that happened over the summer was a visit from one of the girl’s good friends. She flew in from PA and stayed with us for 2 weeks.

When we picked her up at the airport, Heidie couldn’t be there – so she sent a cardboard substitution and greeting:

We took Rachel to the waterfalls near our house:

And to the gorgeous flower fields that surround our town in the summer.
(They grow flowers for seed here.)

And we hosted a paint battle one night. The kids had a blast.

Good times. Happy kids make for a happy mom.
